Transformative Harmonics™ Level 1

Rebirthing Ourselves

An SSP Sound Journey Experience for Awakening the Inner Child

Seminar Overview

The Safe and Sound Protocol is a nervous-system-based intervention designed to lubricate and support the neurological pathways of the social engagement system. The program works through vagal nerve stimulation through the auditory pathways. There is a strong body of evidence building to suggest that vagal nerve stimulation improves psychological and physical health outcomes. This nerve can be reached through an indirect pathway through this non-invasive, acoustic vagal nerve stimulator, offering an accessible alternative to other types of devices.

Developed by Dr. Stephen Porges, (Polyvagal Theory), this program sends cues of safety using mid-level frequencies into the social engagement system (cranial nerve NC, V, VII, IX, X, and XLL), to cue the body and nervous system out of defensive patterning towards social engagement. This system and the accompanying course build on the theoretical understanding that our bidirectional relationship system of the cortex and brainstem can be attended to simultaneously to build trust and safety in the body, process emotions, and improve autonomic functioning.

In this advanced application of the Safe and Sound Protocol, the music program is applied in conjunction with Somatic ExperiencingⓇ and Bioenergetics (Biofield TuningⓇ) principles to support emotional (limbic system) processing, deepen intuition, and offer insights into creativity and spiritual awareness.

This Neurophysiological Model allows attendees to explore the Self which in Internal Family Systems is referred to as one’s soul essence through the relationship of the attachment and bonding system (inner child). Through an understanding of the psyche using our neurocellular movement patterns (Bonnie Bainbridge-Cohen), one can explore the levels of conscious awareness through specific stages of our psychological and physiological development.

Attendees will learn and practice the concepts of titration and pendulation within the context of their nervous system during specific listening segments (15 minutes at a time) in the course. They will develop tools to enhance regulation, deepen their embodiment of the neurocellular movements, and attend to their relationship with spirituality through self-inquiry and embodied experiences.

Attendees will leave with an increased knowledge of the therapeutic use and intersection of sound, somatics, psychology, and spirituality. They will experience more understanding of how the nervous system communicates and receives information in and through the sensory system. They will learn how to use the language of psychoacoustics and sound more confidently. They will increase their ability for deep relational attunement through embodied presence and enhanced access to their creativity and intuition.

Seminar Learning Objectives:

Through lecture, live demonstration, and small group practice using meditations, biophysiological practices, and The Safe and Sound Program, participants will learn to do the following:

  • Explain how sound and frequencies impact and create shifts in autonomic states.
  • Describe how the nervous system is shaped by our early relational experiences.
  • Illustrate how sound, biophysiological practices, neurocellular movements and bioenergetics, can work together to support state-dependent memory reprocessing.
  • Explain how The Safe and Sound Program combined with neurophysiological practices and Bioenergetic support contributes to holistic neural organization and integration.
  • Learn how provider presence works in conjunction with brain-nervous system interventions to enhance spiritual awareness, creativity, and intuitive abilities.
  • Attendees will be able to identify and self-assess using concepts such as The Window of Tolerance, The Faux Window, and Co-regulation.
  • Explain how the combined use of the Safe and Sound Program, Somatic Experiencing®, and Bioenergetic processes can be used to enhance physical safety in the body, increase interoceptive awareness, and promote spiritual growth.
  • Apply intentional practices and self-inquiry to develop practical tools to cultivate a deeper relationship with spirituality and intuition.
